In a BRAND NEW development, the former Pfizer headquarters at 219-235 East 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan is undergoing a massive office-to-residential conversion.
This project, led by Metro Loft Developers and David Werner Real Estate Investments, is set to become the largest of its kind in New York City, with a total of 1,602 residential units upon completion. Notably, 25% of these units will be designated as affordable housing, addressing the city's pressing need for low-income housing options.
The ambitious plan includes adding 19 stories atop the original 10-story tower and reconfiguring the adjoining building with a new high-performance facade.
The development will also feature 100,000 square feet of amenities, including a rooftop pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center, aiming to provide residents with a high-quality living experience. This project exemplifies the city's commitment to repurposing underutilized commercial spaces to meet housing demands.
